Finally after weeks of waiting we have the information we´ve been waiting for. The Dates & Locations of the final tour from the Swedish House Mafia.
After they announced their three stops on Swedish ground at the Stockholm’s Friends Arena in November some weeks ago, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello got our attention during the last weeks with their “Spot the dots” campaign.

The One last tour is separated in two tour legs. The first tour leg is kicking off at the 16th of November in Dubai and continues in India, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, France and of course Germany (6th December, Festhalle, Frankfurt) were a part of the toblip.com team will be. Final (until now) tour spot in Europe will be Oslo/Norway two days before christmas. To us it sounds a little bit strange that the guys announced no destination in Spain. At least they got a lot of love in Ibiza, Barcelona and Madrid.
We have to add that the guys will announce the final tour station and two more countries in October. Maybe one more Masquerade Motel party in Miami.

The second tour leg will start with the debut of South Africa at the end of January before the Swedes hit the States & Canada in February and March and will end (until now) in Los Angeles.
All tickets will go on sale Friday, September 28 at 12:00 local time, except for South Africa and India where tickets will go on sale October 8 and Oslo starting on September 25.

17th November – Sun Arena Polo Ground, Mumbai, India

18th November – Unitech Golf Course, Delhi, India

22nd November – Friends Arena, Stockholm, Sweden

23rd November – Friends Arena, Stockholm, Sweden

24th November – Friends Arena, Stockholm, Sweden

26th November – Forum, Copenhagen, Denmark

29th November – O2 Arena, Prague, Czech Republic

30th November – WM Park Planai, Schladming, Austria

Saturday, August 18 in 2012, one of the hottest days in Germany in 2012 and a great festival. MTV Mobile Beats Festival took place in Essen and for us it was a pleasure to be part of it.The location, the Delta Musik Park in Essen, fitted perfect to this beautfiul event. At first we weren’t sure about the size of the whole area – it seemed pretty small – but after we enjoyed the festival with it’s more than 4000 guests – we can say that it was well chosen.

After entering the festival area at around 2.15pm we checked out the whole venue. The mainstage was close to the entry and for people who didn’t have the energy to dance or stand in front of it, a stadium like terrace has been built up to sit and enjoy the shows from a different angle.

The second stage could be found in a backyard looking like spot, at the back end of the festival area. Next to the stage you had the chance to dance or just to sit down and relax in the shadow. As you might can imagine, the area wasn’t that small because the Delta Music club was also on it where the party continued from 10pm till the next morning.

Enough about the whole venue, let’s focus on the acts. We haven’t been there the whole time and we actually wanted to stay way longer but it was just too hot and we had to drive back about 300km but we really enjoyed some great names starting with Moguai.

Moguai played for about 1.5 hours while more and more people entered the festival. When André began to play, there were only some people but at the end of his varied set it was almost packed – and hot. Moguai played almost only his own productions and it was great how the people reacted on his stuff. For example when he dropped “Electra”, almost everyone felt the song and Moguai seemed to have a lot of fun on stage too.

Like already mentioned, it was one of the hottest days in 2012, so the securities decided to splash some cold water into the crowd so that. Without that there probably would have been some accidents due to dehydration and circulatory.

After Moguai, Axwell started and before his tourmanager had set up the wires and cdjs, the crowd started to shout for him. It was an amazing feeling that almost everyone standing in front of the stage came down to see Mr. Hedfors spinning. In a summarization, Axwell’s set was like the last set’s he played accross Europe but he also played two newer tracks which are going to be released on his label sool. One is Tommy Trash’s remix on the Ashton Shuffle and the other one is a remix by the Dutch duo Dubvision. His set didn’t disappoint, the crowd really felt it and we had the chance to be backstage while Axwell was playing. To get a good impression how it exactly was, we have this 26 minute long video for you.

After Mr. Hedfors was finished we just enjoyed some fresh drinks and went to the second stage where Doctor Dru was still playing. Maceo Plex started 30minutes later but we were really exhausted so we just decided to leave the festival but next time we will definitely stay in Essen just to see more nice acts.

To sum it up, the festival was really good – acts, organisation, everything -, we will definitely be there in 2013 and we are a lil bit sad that we did not stay the whole night. Below you can find some pictures we took, if you would like to see some more, don’t forget to check out or facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/toblipcom

Thanks to Gemeinsame-Sache for letting us being part of it!

Ultra Music Festival 2011 has been filmed and edited by Final Kid who is e.g. responsible for the videos of Fedde Le Grand and he created a about 60mins long video about UMF and how crazy it has become! 13 years – starting in 1999 – have passed and the festival increased and increased.

Really cool footage featuring artists like David Guetta, Fedde Le Grand, techno legend Carl Cox, Boysznoize, Afrojack, Tiesto and many many more. Very good quote by Afrojack “Being booked on Ultra is like an official introduction in the dance music scene”.

We highly recommend CAN U FEEL IT – The UMF Experience, it’s definitely worth to watch and especially if you are really into house / dance music or like some people used to say EDM.

On Friday, 16 September, it was time for my first trip to Stockholm. Actually it was also my first visit of Sweden and it the journey was really good – musically and in the view of a typical tourist.

At 6.30 Marcus, Torben and me drove to Berlin to fly to Arlanda Airport where we arrived at about 12.05 o’clock. After checking out which is the cheapest bus we arrived at the central station of Stockholm at 13.30 and went to our hotel which was pretty close to the station. The Freys hotel is a small 4 star hotel near the T Central and close to the pedestrian are. Actually everything we wanted to check out was pretty close ;)

After checking in, we walked through the city which is really beautiful and did some window shopping and – of course – sight seeing.

In the evening we me with Henrik of Cuepoint and a friend of him and then went to a pretty nice restaurant called ”Ett litet hak” were we talked about the upcoming Axwell gig, music and some other random stuff. The food there was really great, I took the selfmade Tortellini but the meat and the fish looked also pretty good. You might check it out if you’re in Stockholm :)

Later we went to the bar of the Story hotel, which seems to be a pretty cool design hotel. The interior of the bar was also really stylish and the atmosphere there was good as the played some deeper stuff like “Hamburg is for lovers” by David August etc. As Marcus and I were to tired for party we went to our hotel while Torben decided to party ;)

On Saturday we visited the city for another time and we had real luck with the weather because it was about 22° and you couldn’t see any clouds on the sky. We just enjoyed the city, drank some coffee and took some pictures and in the afternoon we went back to our hotel to relax as we wanted to be 100% ready to celebrate and enjoy Axwell in the evening. At 9pm, after some Vapiano dinner, we met with Torben and a friend of him and drove by Taxi to the venue. The driver somehow thought that we are rich so he decided to take an exorbitant price for a 5km long tour but we didn’t know so we paid him about 500 Krona. Later we were told that this was really high -.-

Enough crying, let’s talk about “Where’s the Party” by Carlsberg which took place at the Stockholm Cruise Center Frihamnen . When we entered Dimitri Vangelis and Wyman just finished their set at the entrance floor and Sebjak began to play in the back, at the main stage which actually was a little stage just on front a canvas which hid the big booth and the LED walls . Sebjak played a couple of IDs, his remix of “Bang” by Richard Grey and Robin S or Norman Doray’s latest single “Kalifornia” just to name a few.

The venue itself was just a big hall – a cruise center like the name says ;-) – seperated in two different areas and equipped with a lot of technical highlights like the Function One soundsystem, huge LEDs or C02 cannons.

About 2 hours after Sebjak started the Where’s the Party countdown began and Axwell started his set with the “Heart is King” vs. “Flash” vs. “Losing my religion” bootleg which is one of my favourite bootlegs at the moment. With the beginning of Mr. Hedfors set the whole effects showed their power and the LED walls and the co2 cannons combined with the music caused a lot of goosebumbs I guess.

As we had some issues with getting wristbands we had to stand in the masses which is absolutely ok but just when Axwell started more and more people went into the big room and it was kinda overcrowded so we decided to go to the back to enjoy the event and not to fight for breath while standing in the masses.

The hightlight of his set was probably when he played “Levels” by Avicii with the vocals of “Something gotta hold on” and the crowd was just going nuts and celebrating Avicii’s catchy and beloved track. In general, Axwell played a really good set and tracks like “Sending my love” by R3hab and Swanky Tunes ft. Max C, “Resurrection” by Michael Calfan with the vocals of “Together” by Axwell himself and Sebastian Ingrosso, “Calling” by Ingrosso and Alesso or the Thomas Gold remix of “Judas” by Lady Gaga.

Axwell also played “Save the World” and as a special guest John Martin came on stage and performed it live. To be honest his voice didn’t sound that well and I’m still not a fan of this Swedish House Mafia single but the masses love it, that is for sure.

All in all played a lot of mashups and edits – Axwell edits FYI :D :D – and it was definitely a very good and big experience but I also expected that Axwell would play some IDs or tracks he didn’t play for a long time like “Centre of the universe” which is still one of the songs I have to hear live.

At 2.20 Axwell finished his set with “Leave the world behind” vs. “Reach out” by Sander van Doorn and the big show was over. Dimitri Vangeli and Wyman took over for the last 40minutes and after waiting outside – it was 10° C – for Henrik who was already on his way to the T-station Marcus and I took the shuttle bus and went back to our hotel.

On sunday we didn’t do something spectacular, just some window and typical Swedish food shopping but in the evening we met with 2 friends of us at Vapiano for a really nice talk about SHM, music in general and of last nights gig.

4 hours later we decided to go and on monday we just had some breakfast at our hotel and then met with Torben, who stayed at another hotel, at the City Central stop and took the bus to Arlanda where we took of at 12.45.

In conclusion this trip was good in different ways. It was really cool to see Axwell live for another time, Stockholm is a really beautiful city which I will definitely visit again and the dinners and conversations with Henrik, Petter and Mattias were also interesting and funny.

I also brought a present for you guys. I had the chance to get a review sample of the WeSC Bassoon headphones and the review of them will be online next tuesday. Thanks to Patrick of WeSC who left them at the hotel for me :)

//Tobi

P.S. Do you know Jan Tauer? :D

Ok the monday is almost done but the last weekend was almost as phat as the one before. Actually Max Vangeli‘s gig at the 13th birthday part of Der Rote Salon in Hanover was so cool that I will do a little review for all you guys out there. After der Rote Salon last year celebrated it’s 12th birthday with AN21 now his collaboration partner Max Vangeli was there to play :)

The gig took part in a hotel, which has two halls where parties like this can happen. We arrived at about 0.15 at the venue, and in the mainroom some smooth deep house was played and about 0.45 another resident dj started playing to get the crowd into the right mood.

About 40mins later I think, Max Vangeli started his set with the “Valodja” remix by Riva Starr which is really big and I hope that it will be out pretty soon. After that he played the long awaited “You’ve got the Love” remix by Mark Knight which I’m enjoying everytime I’m hearing it – also after it has been released.

“Feel” by Third Party was also a real good working track for me and same goes for the “Pressure” remix by Alesso but there where also some really phat bootlegs Max was playing like the “Heart is King” vs. the Nicky Romero remix of “Flash” by Green Velvet or the huge “Watch the sunrise” bootleg which is the bootleg Max did on the plane before the gig :) (check the gesture ;-) )

It’s the last track in the first video – starting 11:54 -and I think you will also enjoy it!

Other tunes he played were Thomas Gold remix of Adele’s “Set Fire to The Rain“, “Nothing but Love” by Axwell or Dirty South’ remix of “Coming home” and of course he played “Miami to Ibiza” by the Swedish House Mafia and his and An21′s remix of “Save the world” which is the latest single by the Swedes.

My personal highlights actually were the two last tracks which were “People of the night” and “You don’t have to whisper“. Both tracks are productions of Max and AN21‘s upcoming album and they really have a lot of potential. Especially “You don’t have to whisper” with the catchy vocals of UK #1 Example is just brilliant and maybe something most of their fans wouldn’t expect as it’s not that clubby.

All in all Max Vangeli played an – in my opinion – awesome set and it was nice to see Max playing for another time. He’s a really nice guy who also took some time for his fans to take some photos or to sign some arms – yes his autograph was well wanted . I’m looking forward to MidWest to catch up with him and An21, I guess the whole festival will be a lot of fun.

Oh my god, what a weekend, what a gig. It’s pretty hard to find words which can describe this feeling but as I already promised to write a review plus I love sharing this impression with you I try my best. Last sunday, 12th of June 2011, a dream came true and I saw Eric Prydz live for the first time after I couldn’t make it to Hamburg in 2010.

The event took place in a concert hall, called Capitol, in Hanover which you could also describe as a little brixton academy cause it also has an old flair and a balcony above the floor. Sure it has not the same spirit and Brixton Academy is a lot bigger but you describe it as little Brixton Academy I guess, but cleaner ;-)

We arrived pretty early at the venue, it was just a couple of minutes past 10 pm, but we wanted to experience the whole night as Eric Prydz is really something special.

The first warm up dj played a pretty cool set which was more deep and included, for example, “Disco Gnome” as the Tale of Us remix or “Symphony” by Adam Port as the Leon remix. He played for about 2 hours and after that the other warm up dj played some more dancefloor tunes to bring the crowd into the right dancing and party mood.

After a couple of schwarze Dose, a pretty cool non alcoholic energy drink, and about 3 hours later Eric Prydz started his set at 1.20 am with the Colloseum ID, followed by some other IDs which I might haven’t heard before. I also talked with some other guys who haven been to the gig and they didn’t know em too but for all those real Pryda heads, I have to say, talking about IDs, this gig was probably one of the best you could visit.

Eric played IDs, he didn’t play for , as far as I know, a long time like Berns 09 ID 1, Pete Tong ID, Space Miami ID (how unreal is this live) and he also played, as his last track, the new Ambassadeur ID03, which, in my opinion, has a lot of potential to become a pure hit.

He also played the Summerburst ID but to stop with those IDs, which are kinda making me angry because I want them all, he also played released tracks like “Glow“, his “Personal Jesus” remix and “Niton” with the “The Reason” vocals as a special edit. After that he played “M.S.B.O.Y” as an edit with the vocals of “You’ve got the love”, like he played it for example at Sensation Copenhagen in november.

Then he played “Mirage”, the first track of the latest Pryda EP, and all I can say about this track is, that it’s absolutely amazing. I really don’t know where to start with describing the feeling when he played it but if you have listened to it on a good system you should definitely know what “Mirage” is able to.

With a little stop, Eric shut down the music at the end of “Mirage”, some might thought that this was the end but then he started playing his really big edit of “Pjanoo“, “Viro” and “Allein Allein” which you can see in the video below.

Followed by his “Miami to Ibiza” edit, which I really didn’t expect and actually thinks it’s pretty awkward to see Eric spinning this track, he transitioned into “Juletider“, another track from the 20th Pryda release, which the fans also might known as Berns 09 ID #2 ;-)

Last but not least, Eric knows how to end a set, he played the, as I said it at the beginning of this post, the Ambassadeur ID 3. Because of an empty battery we couldn’t record it but I hope you enjoy the footage we did for you :)

In conclusion this sunday was a musical highlight in my live so far and I have to thank Eric Prydz, Chris and Andre for organisating this event and to everyone who came down and enjoyed this gig. Special thanks to Marcus who uploaded and cutted the videos.

To give you guys a preview about the upcoming stuff on toblip.com, I can tell you that I’m sorting out the Ibiza summertrip and this weekend, 18th June, I will see Max Vangeli in Hanover, so you better be prepared for another review :)

MidWest Music Festival interviews Norman Doray:

Germany is looking forward to see you performing live this year as one main act of the Midwest Music Festival on the horse race course in Neuss near Dusseldorf on 24 July. What other big festivals do you do this year and what is special about playing big festival main stages?

Norman Doray:

Yeah I’m really glad to do this festival as well, Germany is a new market to me and it’s always good to be part of it! This year I’m playing many festivals such as Tomorrowland or Creamfields in Uk:)

What can the festival attendees at the Midwest Music Festival expect from your DJ set?

Norman Doray:

To be honest I really don’t know as I never prepare my sets in advance, I love to feel the crowd and play with it. But for sure it will be my touch, with lots of grooves and big room moments:)

At the Midwest Music Festival it seems like a lot of friends are playing the same festival. Is this special? so we guess it will be a very fun day then, right? Line up: tiesto, fedde le grand, mark knight, dirty south, martin solveig, funkagenda, an21, max vangeli, thomas gold, eddie thoneick, patric la funk and more

Norman Doray:

Yeah! More than being a big festival with pressure and all, it’s the occasion to have fun with your friends like in Miami etc…Looking forward to it!

What else is on your agenda for 2011? Any new projects or plans?

Norman Doray:

I have a heavy schedule coming now. I’m just resting after a huge UK tour with David Guetta, it was amazing. I’ll play with him again this summer at Pacha Ibiza, also many times with the Swedish House Mafia.

Ill also play a lot in Italy and Croatia during this period! Concerning the production sides, many projects should be out in 1 or 2months times, solo project, but also collaborations and remixes. I’m in studio now, polishing everything;)
